View Point Handmade Gallery is part gallery, part retail space and part community hub.

Combining elements from all creative fields, from music through to craft - it will serve the artistic community and the residents of Bendigo, providing an avenue to showcase the amazing talent on offer in our beautiful town.

We are seeking submissions from creative types who are interested in renting our retail shelf space to sell their wares.

Our mission is to develop a space where we can support and encourage the growth of the creative community. We want to make connections with artists and crafters in these initial stages, but as we progress we will be opening avenues to showcasing performance artists, musicians and all creative talent – approach us with your idea and we will do our best to work with you!

In conjunction with our retail space we will also be opening a gallery to showcase solo and group art exhibitions, the structure of these is still in the planning stages but we would love to hear from artists interested in  taking advantage of this space.

We're looking to start a dialogue with the creative community. We want this space to feel like a warm and welcoming hub of creative expression and to do this we need the support of the local artistic community, we want your ideas and inspiration to help form this space.

The basic concept for the retail space is similar to that of a handmade market – for a weekly fee crafters and artists lease a shelf (or clothing rack, or any of our other display options) in the store to display and sell their wares. For this fee we man the store and handle all purchases, no commission fee is taken on sales. Payment for all sales is collected and paid monthly, either by cheque or direct deposit. We keep our stockists up-to-date with their sales and will let them know if their display needs restocking. The crafters restock their own shelves and can order and organise their display in whatever way they see fit (within their shelf constraints and within reason, of course). Shelves start at $12/week (+ GST) for a half shelf, measuring 450mm, up to $50/week for a full 900mm wall space, which may include a combination of shelves and clothes racks, or other display options. The minimum hire period is two months and payment for the leased space is paid monthly in advance, before the hire period can commence.
